Biography Markus Hohenfellner

Markus Hohenfellner (born September 1958 in Vienna) is an Austrian Medical Doctor and board certified urologist. Since 2003 he is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Urology, University of Heidelberg, Medical School.

He obtained his medical degree at the Leopold-Franzens University, Innsbruck, Austria and at the University of Oxford, Oxford, UK

Dr. Hohenfeller was trained in the following institutions:

Dr. Hohenfeller especially focuses on cancer surgery of the kidney, retroperitoneum and small pelvis: minimal invasive urology, Da Vinci robotic surgery, reconstructive bladder replacement, ultra-radical cancer surgery.

Interdisciplinary Oncology with the integration of urology into a Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) setting and creation of an translational urological cooperative oncological group.

His scientific work Constitution of a translational professorship (Stefan Duensing) equipped with 5 PhD's, which works on prevention, pathophysiology, risk-to-progression-assessment and individualized therapy of urologic cancer and scientifically outreaches to other relevant working groups and institutions such as the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ)
