Biography Hassan Razvi

Dr. Hassan Razvi graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine in 1988.

After a one year rotating internship in Akron, Ohio, he then went on to complete Urology residency training at The University of Western Ontario (UWO).

Fellowship training then followed in Endourology at UWO and Prostate Disorders at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Centre in New York City. He joined the faculty at UWO in 1995.

Clinical and research interests have focused on various aspects of urinary stone disease and novel treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer.

During his career, Dr. Razvi has held a number of leadership positions locally and nationally, including Urology Residency Program Director, President of the Medical Staff Organization and Chairman of the Canadian Urological Association Research Scholarship Foundation.
 
Dr. Razvi is currently Professor and Chair of the Division of Urology at The University of Western Ontario and Chief of Urology at St. Joseph's Health Care London and the London Health Sciences Centre. He is also treasurer of the Northeastern Section of the American Urological Association and Chairman of the Guidelines Committee of the Canadian Urological Association.
 
He is the author of over 70 scientific papers and 6 book chapters. He has been guest professor at over 90 universities, national meetings or instructional courses throughout the world and is a member of many national and international associations.
 
His research interests include alternative medical and surgical treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia, metabolic and surgical aspects of urinary stone disease and prostate cancer.
