Biography Carl-Jørgen Arum

Dr. Carl-Jørgen Arum was born in Denmark. He graduated from the University of California Berkeley in 1978 with a Bachelor degree in Anatomy and Physiology, and from the University of Copenhagen in 1986 with a MD.

He completed the general surgery residency in Karlstad, Sweden in 1993 and urology specialty at St. Olavs University Hospital in Trondheim, Norway in 1997. Since then, he has practiced as consultant urologist at the St. Olavs University Hospital.
 
He is members of the Norwegian Association of Urology and the European Association of Urology.
 
His clinical interests include long-term follow-up of PVP-laser as well as Botulinum-toxin treatment, endoscopic stone treatment, laser treatment of BPH, and uro-oncology with a special focus on bladder cancer.
 
His academic activities include both teaching and research at the Medical Faculty of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. His current research efforts focus on the genotype-phenotype correlation in bladder cancer patients and animal models of bladder cancer.
